Kansas is widely regarded as one of the premier states for bobwhite quail hunting, with some of the best opportunities found in the Midwest. The area's mix of native sand hill pastures, CRP, and crop fields offers an ideal habitat for quail. In some cases, up to 28 coveys have been moved in a single day. Pointing dogs are typically used for quail hunts, although hunters are encouraged to bring their own dogs.
