Turkey Hunting in the Foothills of the Appalachian Mountains
We are blessed to be in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains where large populations of Eastern Wild Turkey call home. It would be a pleasure to be your host as you match your skills with these awesome birds. Our experienced guides will use all their knowledge and “tricks” to put a big gobbler within range of your gun or bow.
Seasoned turkey hunters who prefer to hunt alone are invited as well. We have exclusive hunting rights to all of our properties and will be glad to “fill you in” on the land and what the birds typically do on that particular property.
We will accommodate one group up to four hunters per week for a maximum of 3 days. Alabama toms can and will become very “educated” if they are pressured and gobbling can stop. As mentioned, minimizing hunting pressure is an ongoing management tool which ensures the best chance of success.
Our turkey land consists of bottomland hardwoods, gentle rolling hills and pastures to steep ridges and hollows. With this diversity in our hunting land, we can accommodate everyone regardless of physical condition.
We now have several properties in Georgia that extends our hunting season through the middle of May.

About Our Eastern Wild Turkey Hunts in Alabama
Most important info about these hunts—landscapes, strategies, costs, and comforts.
Summary & Terrain
Alabama’s fertile river bottoms and mixed pine–hardwood ridges create prime habitat for Eastern wild turkey, making it one of the Southeast’s top destinations for spring gobbler hunts. Large tracts of intensively managed timberland, agricultural edge and roadside food plots support healthy breeding and brood‐rearing populations. Hunters typically range through bottomland hardwood sloughs, rolling upland hills and occasional pasture openings, with each party often having access to several hundred acres of private ground. This combination of diverse cover and concentrated turkey numbers ensures plenty of birds on the roost each morning.
Most hunts are conducted one‐on‐one with professional guides who tailor the approach to each hunter’s skill level, whether it’s a first‐time shot at a gobbler or a challenge for a seasoned caller. Strategies include precise spring timber calls, timed decoy setups and careful glassing at first light. Terrain varies from gentle flats requiring minimal physical exertion to steeper hollows and ridges that demand a moderate level of fitness and scouting acumen. Guides draw on local turkey patterns—roost locations, feeding routes and gobble stations—to position hunters for a clean shot with shotgun or bow.
Eastern Wild Turkey hunts in Alabama are based out of comfortable, climate-controlled lodges that serve as a central hub for each day’s field activities. Accommodations consist of private or shared rooms equipped with standard beds, ensuring a restful night after early-morning hunts. Modern heating and air-conditioning systems maintain a steady indoor temperature throughout the season. Lodges typically feature common areas for hunt briefings and relaxation between outings. Guided hunts run in small groups or one-on-one formats, and outfitters generally include basic field-dressing services and short-term storage or transport of harvested birds for local processing.
Spring turkey season in Alabama generally runs from late March into mid‐April, with some properties extending hunts into Georgia where season can continue through May. Hunts often span two to three days, giving participants time to work birds under changing pressure and weather conditions. Group sizes are kept small to reduce overpressuring the birds and maintain high success rates. All hunts include land access, guiding services, assistance with permit paperwork and field dressing, allowing hunters to focus on the pursuit and enjoy the rhythms of early‐season turkey hunting.
Eastern wild turkey hunts in Alabama average around $1,900 per hunter for a 2- to 4-day guided experience. Costs vary by group size, guiding format and trip length. Entry-level packages typically include small-group guiding, three meals daily, climate-controlled lodge accommodations and basic field-dressing with drop-off at a local processor. Mid-tier hunts often extend to three days, offer semi-private guiding and may include upgraded lodging or guaranteed shot opportunities. One-on-one guiding, longer durations or deluxe lodge settings carry an additional fee. Gratuities and airport transfers are generally not included.
