Scaled Quail
The Scaled Quail (Callipepla squamata), also known as the blue quail, is a distinctive bird native to the arid regions of the Southwestern United States and Mexico. Recognizable by its strikingly scaled appearance, which features a bluish-gray plumage with intricate, scale-like markings, this medium-sized game bird typically measures about 10 to 11 inches in length. Scaled Quail are primarily ground dwellers, adept at camouflaging within their dry grassland habitats, making them a challenging target for hunters. Hunting these birds often requires a combination of stealth and strategy, as they tend to flush unexpectedly. They are known for their swift flight and sudden bursts of speed, which necessitate quick reflexes downrange. Additionally, scouting for Scaled Quail involves knowledge of their feeding patterns, as they are commonly found in association with areas of brush or dry sagebrush where they forage for seeds and insects. Successful hunters often pursue them with well-trained dogs that can assist in locating and retrieving downed birds amidst the terrain. 3-Specials Wild Quail Hunt in Arizona (Price Per Gun, 2 Gun Minimum)
Arizona is our bread and butter. It’s where we started, where we live, train, and scout the most. Our Arizona upland hunts are primarily based in Southern Arizona and we focus on the three species of quail located there - Gambels, Scaled, and Mearns quail.
We also conduct some hunts in northern and central Arizona as requested, but those are only for Gambels quail. We will recommend a lodging location based on the species you desire to hunt. Arizona is our home turf. All of our guides are local to the area and know this quail country extremely well. We spend more time scouting and finding new pockets of birds than any other service in the area. Our Arizona quail hunts are second to none.
If you desire the “Arizona quail Slam” (All three species) we are happy to accommodate that as well.

Wild Quail Hunt in Texas - All Inclusive
Whether you’re a seasoned bird hunter or new to the sport, there’s nothing quite like an action filled day of Texas quail hunting. Guest will arrive after 5PM on the evening before their first days hunt and supper will be served later that evening. The next morning you will have breakfast and head out for the quail hunt as the sun is rising. Around Noon you will break and head back to the lodge for lunch and a bit of relaxation. Around 2:30 PM you will head out for the evening quail hunt and hunt until you have bagged your limit or the sun sets on you. Departure morning breakfast is served, check out time is 9 AM.
