Bufflehead
The bufflehead is a diminutive, fast-flying diving duck named for its oversized, puffy head. Males display bold black-and-white plumage, flashing iridescent colors in the right light. Found on small ponds, lakes, and coastal bays, buffleheads are quick to decoy and agile in flight. Their small size and erratic movements make them challenging but fun targets for waterfowl hunters.
