This 5 or 7-day hunt is the rugged western hunt you’ve always wanted. You'll ride horses or ATVs into the wilderness to find your elk, and return each day to home-cooked meals and warm wall tents. The elk in our territory are Rocky Mountain Elk, which have the largest antlers of any subspecies of elk. These elk can be hunted with rifle or bow, with a guide or on your own. The elk in this area live in varied environments from ravines and gullies to clearcuts and meadows. They are adaptable animals, living in every area in our hunting territory. Depending on the season, they may be living deep in the mountains, making for an engaging and involved hunting experience, or they may be located minutes from camp. September is archery elk hunting season, getting you up close and personal with these great animals. The weather is agreeable in September, ranging from the high 30s at night to around 75F during the day. You'll need to bring your rain gear just in case, there are often several days of rain during September. October - November is rifle elk hunting season, which includes our horse camp guided hunts and our lodge guided hunts. This month is chilly, with temperatures in the low 20s to the high 50s. 300 Acre Hunting Preserve Hog Hunt, 100-150 lbs

A guided spot and stalk hog hunt consists of 1 hunter on 1 guide or 2 hunters on 1 guide in the spot and stalk scenarios. The hunting preserve area is approximately 300 acres so be prepared for a little walking. There are stands and ambush points the guides can direct you to if a hunter isn’t physically able to walk. This is a challenging hog hunt that is great for introducing young or inexperienced hunters to the outdoors. The hog hunting guides will help teach guests how to maneuver through the woods undetected on well-worn game trails and the hog hunters will learn how to use the wind and patience on approach. We provide shooting sticks for rifle hunters. We allow hunters to choose their weapon of choice. While on a typical spot and stalk hog hunt your guide will predetermine a time for continental breakfast at the main lodge and then depart shortly afterward for the hunting grounds. We have had multiple hogs taken over the years on the way to the hunting location so the hunter could experience an added bonus. Once arriving to their hog hunting spots, the guide will then lead the way and help you stalk into your competent shooting range. This hog hunt is also great for large parties of hunters. The guides will safely divide the hunting area into zones and communicate together to help track moving boar and hopefully ensure success for their clients. After the hunt, the guides will load the hog or hogs and take them back to our processing facility so the meat can be prepared for transport or placed into our walk-in coolers until time for departure.

We conduct our mountain lions trips from November through April in the heart of Arizona and we can adapt to whatever diverse conditions we will encounter during your mountain lion trip. Our hunts can be conducted in several different methods including calling them with an electronic predator call, trailing them in the snow, but our preferred method is by pursuing behind our pack of lion hounds on foot on dry ground conditions. Whether we are going to be calling or dry ground hunting on foot, our most proven method of hunting these magnificent and elusive western predators is on foot with our pack of hounds. Our houndsman guides that will be taking you out on our lion trip are some of the very best fourth generation lion hunters in the state and will do everything humanly & legally possible to tree your tom and give you an extremely unforgettable first class hunting experience of a life time. Our team of predator hunting houndsmen have over two decades of pounding the high & low country, calling, trailing, and treeing lions under the very brutal country in Arizona has to offer. The typical day on our Arizona mountain lion hunts will begin before sunrise, depending on the particular area of rim country or the other units that we have located a fresh track or recent kill from a tom mountain lion. Some of the rim country where we conduct our mountain lion hunts has excellent road systems that we will utilize to cover vast amounts of country with trucks & UTVs in search of fresh tracks of mountain lions. If we are going to be lion hunting in a large expanse of rough and roadless country, we will then free cast the pack of hounds while following them on foot as the pack searches for the fresh track of a legal mountain lion. Once a large tom mountain lion track is located either by us or by the hounds, the memories begin. Once the pack of hounds has jumped the cat, you never know exactly where that particular lion will decide to tree or bay up on rocks, once our hounds have finally caught up to the lion. The pursuit will make the lion either choose to climb up into the branches of a tall ponderosa pine tree, cedar, juniper, or climb up on top of a giant rock mound, hide in the deep rim rock cave, or even fight the dogs on the ground. Expect to take shots anywhere from 40 yards to point blank on a bayed lion, so clients need to be ready to possibly do some quick shooting in a very adrenaline filled moment. Experience an extreme big game hunt that is not offered in the entire state for a hunter to experience than our lion hunts in the heart of Arizona. The OTC tags and licenses for our trophy Arizona mountain lion trips are purchased online and do not need to be drawn.

2x1 Non-Rut Coues Deer Rifle Hunt, 4-Day

Our outfit is pleased to offer quality hunting trips for the Coues Whitetailed Deer in southern Arizona near Tucson. The Coues Deer is considered one of the most prized and most challenging deer species for North American trophy hunters. This petite deer is the smallest huntable sub-species of the whitetailed deer and weighs between 70 - 100 lbs. dressed out. Mature bucks normally have 8 total points on the rack. The minimum Coues deer score for Pope and Young is 70 inches and the minimum score for Boone and Crockett is 110 inches. The Coues Whitetail is classified under a separate category in all record books because of its small, tight rack. Even the World's Record typical Coues deer (144-1/8" B&C taken by Ed Stockwell in 1953) would not make it into the Boone and Crockett book if scored and categorized under the Eastern whitetail standards. That is the reason for the separate category for this unique deer species. Hunters that have taken all the species in the "deer slam" usually consider the Coues deer one of the most rewarding and most beautiful trophies. Our Coues hunts are conducted in the vast, rugged desert mountains of southeastern Arizona, with Tucson being the closest major city. The hunting technique for Coues deer involves choosing a good vantage point and spending hours glassing through high-powered binoculars and spotting scopes. The Coues bucks may be spotted over a mile away. Once a trophy Coues buck is located, the spot and stalk method is used to get within shooting range. The canyons where Coues deer live are usually big and open. Rifle hunters should be prepared for shooting distances from 200 yards to 500 yards, if the need arises. Bow hunters typically take shots at ranges from 30 to 60 yards since it is really open terrain. Because of the topography, high-powered riflescopes on top of lightweight flat-shooting rifles with a bipod are a "must-have." Recommended rifle calibers are the .25-06 up to .300 Magnums. We do not recommend smaller calibers. Rifle season hunts are conducted during three timeframes, which are: late October, early November, and late December. Our Archery Coues hunts are conducted during the month of January when they are in full rut. SUCCESS RATES: We are proud to say that many of our rifle Coues seasons have ended with a 100% success rate! Nearly all of our past Coues hunters have been presented with opportunity.

Sheep opens August 10th and most the sheep are harvested the first 10 days of the season. Big Horn Outfitters offers excellent mule deer hunting opportunities in Wyoming Game and Fish regions: C & Y. We harvest excellent deer every year averaging between 150-165″, with many larger deer harvested each year. You can expect to see good numbers of animals and have opportunities at respectable bucks during your hunt. For the most part, these hunts are only mildly physical and can be enjoyed by hunters of all ages and abilities. Success rates are generally 100% each year; the only hunters that haven’t harvested their deer were looking for a specific animal and simply chose not to take any others during their hunt. These deer hunts book up extremely fast, generally 2-4 years in advance, and they all require 2 or more preference points to draw the tag in Wyoming. 5-Day August Black Bear Hunt in Cardova

(Ursus Americanus- Latin Name) With plenty of food near the coastal areas of Cordova, our Black Bear have always been plentiful in the Cordova area, both during the spring and fall hunts. As always, we have goals, trying to achieve 6 foot or better, with an occasional 8 footer taken. Black Bear hunts are conducted 1X1 (one guide, one client) to ensure your ultimate success. But many times it’s a great starter hunt for the new young hunter to compatibility their parents or guardian. Depending on where you are hunting in the Cordova area, both client and guide are transported by the use of small aircraft the day before your hunt begins. Each Black Bear spike camp is portable and removable to assure the best possible area to hunt. Each spike camp tent is 8’X8’ or larger and is equipped with cots and heaters for your comfort. Again, Black Bear habitat varies from high covered snow peaks of their denning areas to the coastal grass areas during April, May and June. During the fall, most bears are hunted where berries are plentiful, either high up in the mountainous hillsides or low coastal areas where sometimes berries are thick. Once your trophy is taken, and it is then tagged, skinned and peeled, the meat is quartered and packed out to the extraction point. You are welcome to take your Black Bear meat back with you, and I can direct you to a local butcher in Cordova, that can process the meat for you. If you choose not to take your Black Bear meat back with you, the meat will be donated to local elders or local charity in Cordova, never wasted. Once the Black Bear hide and skull are back at the lodge, hide is fleshed, ears, lips, nose, tail is turned and knuckles are out, it is then salted. Trophies are normally shipped from lodge to my expeditor in Anchorage, at the end of the season.

Are you searching for a mountain quail hunting guide to complete your upland slam? If we had to choose one upland bird to hunt the rest of our life, it would have to be the mountain quail. If it wasn’t for the beautiful landscapes they call home, they win the award for craftiness and excellent table fare. As the name implies, these are the birds of the mountains. The mountain quail loves brush choked hillsides next to water. It’s common to find mountain quail in the vicinity of sooty grouse, ruffed grouse, band-tailed pigeon, and squirrel, depending on the part of the state. We often find valley quail in the same spots as mountain quail in lower elevation locations, especially late in the season. Folks often call amidst the season and ask if “now is a good time to hunt mountain quail?” The answer is always yes. While some years have better hatches than others – there isn’t the annual fluctuations in quail numbers like you might find in desert quail species. Mountain quail hunting in the early season is very different from the late season; however, no part of the season is better or worse. The early season the quail are more spread out across the mountains but never far from water. In the late season the snow pushes quail lower which concentrates the birds along lower elevation brushy south facing exposures. The season starts early, runs late, and bag limits are generous. There is no place better than California to chase mountain quail. We use pointing dogs that are also trained to retrieve for quail hunts.

The Coues deer is the smallest species of the whitetail family and also known as the "Gray Ghost" of the desert. Since the Coues deer is so small, they will vanish before your eyes, even in the Arizona open terrain. Due to their natural predators within their habitat, Coues deer are always on edge. In order to hunt this elusive animal, a great pair of high power 15x binoculars with a tripod for glassing is a must. Make sure you are in good physically hiking condition to endure the rugged Arizona terrain. Rifle seasons are in October, November, and December. Late December these rutting bucks will be busy rut mode chasing other bucks away from their doe and will make the hunt somewhat easier. The rifle season will be cool to cold temperatures and the bucks can be up and about all day. You will mostly see them up in the mornings sunbathing and during the days bedded up in the shadows. Shots can be as close as 300 yards out to 800+ yards. Knowing this, the hunter must start practicing long range practice before the season starts. History has been told that the pua’a or pig was brought to Hawaii by Captain Cook, as a walking food substance for their journey in the late 1700’s. Through the years, these pigs have been genetically altered by breeding with other species that were introduced to the islands. In the past, the pigs caught show some of these different genetic traits. Wild pigs cause extreme damage to Hawaii’s rainforest eco-system. Hunters help keep the wild pig population under control by eradication. We offer some of the best hog hunting in the Hawaiian Islands. All of these hunts take place on private land (cattle ranches). We hunt hogs from a treestand, ground blind, or spot stalk method--whichever you prefer or based on your capability. HOW GOOD IS THE HOG HUNTING?: We measure our success based on the opportunity we provide our hunters at game that is in range and a reasonable shot for them to take. You can figure that the average hunter will encounter around 6 hogs during a one day hunt. 10-Day Mountain Goat and Black Bear Hunt in Cardova in August

All Mt. Goat hunts are conducted 1X1 (one guide, one client) to ensure your ultimate success, with many cases, a packer is added for those extended missions. Depending on where you are hunting Mt. Goat in the Cordova area, both client and guide are transported by the use of small aircraft the day before your hunt begins. Each Mt. Goat spike camp is portable and removable to assure the best possible area to hunt. Each spike camp tent is 8’X8’ and is equipped with cots and heaters for your comfort. Mt. Goat country can be in a variety of areas, from 5000 foot mountain tops to 1000 mountain ridges along the coastal areas of the North gulf coast. With the use of our small aircraft, we are able to access areas where mountain goats have never seen a human before and can normally find a hunting area to fit your physical needs. (Oreamnos Americanus - Latin Name) Cordova Mt. Goat population is one of the healthiest in the state of Alaska, with some of our horn genetics being one of the best in Alaska. Many of our clients receiving top awards each year during the APHA/SCI program for top scoring Mt. Goat trophies. In Cordova, our goals have been to work with local area biologists in harvesting selected areas for trophies by a permit system, with intent not to over harvest and focus on Billy harvest only. We strive to harvest Billies 8 1/2 inches or better. Our average has been 9 inches or better in recent years, with a few in the 11 inches class. We have 2 classes of Billies in our area, normally Billies weighing in at 285 to 325 pounds, and then we have “Buffalo Billies” weighing in at nearly 400 pounds, a bigger genetics Mt. Goat. (Ursus Americanus - Latin Name) With plenty of food near the coastal areas of Cordova, our Black Bear have always been plentiful in the Cordova area, both during the spring and fall hunts. As always, we have goals, trying to achieve 6 foot or better, with an occasional 8 footer taken. Black Bear hunts are conducted 1X1 (one guide, one client) to ensure your ultimate success. But many times it’s a great starter hunt for the new young hunter to compatibility their parents or guardian. Depending on where you are hunting in the Cordova area, both client and guide are transported by the use of small aircraft the day before your hunt begins. Each Black Bear spike camp is portable and removable to assure the best possible area to hunt. Each spike camp tent is 8’X8’ or larger and is equipped with cots and heaters for your comfort. Again, Black Bear habitat varies from high covered snow peaks of their denning areas to the coastal grass areas near the coastal areas during April, May, and June. During the fall, most bears are hunted where berries are plentiful, either high up in the mountainous hillsides or low coastal areas where sometimes berries are thick. Once your trophy is taken, and it is then tagged, skinned, and peeled, the meat is quartered and packed out to the extraction point. You are welcome to take your Black Bear meat back with you, and I can direct you to a local butcher in Cordova that can process the meat for you. If you choose not to take your Black Bear meat back with you, the meat will be donated to local elders or local charity in Cordova, never wasted. Once the Black Bear hide and skull are back at the lodge, the hide is fleshed, ears, lips, nose, tail is turned, and knuckles are out; it is then salted. Trophies are normally shipped from the lodge to my expeditor in Anchorage at the end of the season.

Since the Coues deer is so small, they will vanish before your eyes, even in the Arizona open terrain. Due to their natural predators within their habitat, Coues deer are always on edge. In order to hunt this elusive animal, a great pair of high power 15x binoculars with a tripod for glassing is a must. Our outfit is pleased to offer quality hunting trips for the Coues Whitetailed Deer in southern Arizona near Tucson. The Coues Deer is considered one of the most prized and most challenging deer species for North American trophy hunters. This petite deer is the smallest huntable sub-species of the whitetailed deer and weighs between 70 - 100 lbs. dressed out. Mature bucks normally have 8 total points on the rack. The minimum Coues deer score for Pope and Young is 70 inches and the minimum score for Boone and Crockett is 110 inches. The Coues Whitetail is classified under a separate category in all record books because of it’s small, tight rack. Even the World's Record typical Coues deer (144-1/8" B&C taken by Ed Stockwell in 1953) would not make it into the Boone and Crockett book if scored and categorized under the Eastern whitetail standards. That is the reason for the separate category for this unique deer species. Hunters that have taken all the species in the "deer slam" usually consider the Coues deer one of most rewarding and most beautiful trophies. Our Coues hunts are conducted in the vast, rugged desert mountains of southeastern Arizona, with Tucson being the closest major city. If you are a bowhunter, we offer two time choices: an early archery deer hunt in August through mid-September and a rut archery season in January. The early season during Aug-Sept is mainly conducted sitting a water hole. The January rut archery season is a bit more challenging and can be considered the ultimate "spot-and-stalk" deer hunt! Our rut Coues deer bowhunting takes place from January 1 through January 31. There are no trees in classic Coues deer country, which leaves out treestand hunting as a January technique. Our guides use glassing methods to locate a good buck. Once a good Coues buck is located, it is then carefully stalked to within a comfortable distance. Carefully stalking involves staying out of sight, walking lightly on the loud, crunchy, brush-choked, gravel ground to avoid noise, and always keeping the wind in your favor. Once into position, the archery hunter waits patiently for the right moment to release an arrow. If the bucks are rutting hard, rattling, grunting and/or doe bleats will sometimes bring the buck closer for an opportunity to release an arrow. Since it is a spot and stalk hunt, archery shots tend to be in the 30 to 60 yard range. The further you can shoot a bow accurately, the higher your chances for success. Our guided Coues bowhunters see many bucks during this rut hunt. Hunters typically make 1 to 3 stalks per day. Most of our archery coues hunters release arrows at bucks. Getting a Coues deer with a bow though, ultimately "boils-down" to the archery hunter's ability to use good stalking techniques. Archery deer hunts are 5 days in duration (instead of 4). We conduct an early archery season (Aug-Sept) and a late season (January). August archery deer hunts may be combined with archery bear (In that case, the total hunt cost would be the current bear hunt rate), if you so choose to purchase an OTC bear tag. January hunts can be combined with javelina during the first 3 weeks of January, if you so choose to apply for and draw a javelina tag. Archery deer tags are over the counter for residents, but are limited for nonresidents (on a first-come, first-serve basis online). Our success rate for Archery Coues hunts is typically double that of the general public's archery Coues success rate. Most of our archery harvests would make the Pope and Young minimum.

Hunt Southern Oregon for Rio Grande Turkey on the best ranches Douglas County has to offer. We manage over 25,000 acres to ensure your success. Spring turkey hunts take place from April 15th to May 31st. We almost always fill with our repeat guests, so book your hunts early. Hunts are all-inclusive and include lodging and dinner the night before your hunt, guiding, and turkey care. Not included are your license and tag, and transportation to Eugene or Roseburg. Fin’s and Feather’s Guide Service is going on its 15th season guiding Rio Grande Turkey’s on some of the best ranches in Douglas County. In fact, Bob Toman, a Fin’s and Feather’s Guest, harvested the number one Rio Grande Turkey in the State of Oregon in 2003. Our turkey hunts include meals, lodging, and field dressing. Non-Outfitted Hog Hunt in Central Texas - Day Hunt

You'll have a hard time choosing which one to take down! We set up strategically placed blinds in known travel, feeding and watering areas. If the hunter is capable, we really love the excitement of a great spot and stalk to hunt our wild hogs. Shoot as many hogs as you like, as this is an unlimited hog hunt but we only clean and quarter one hog with the package. The terrain consist of dense mesquite-filled, rugged pastures, food plots, river bottoms and 72 freshwater lakes where the abundant wild game has easy access to water, cover and food. This makes our area a prime spot for an abundance of monster Texas trophy hogs.

California Quail Day Hunt

Professional California quail hunting guide and outfitter in Northern California. As the name implies valley quail inhabit lower elevation valleys throughout California. They can also be found higher in altitude along the mountain foothills and high desert riparian areas. Thick briars and brush pockets intermixed with grassy openings are the perfect place to begin the search. During optimally wet years the valley quail hatches can be large and winter flocks in the dozens. When cooperative they can hold tight for dogs and explode like bullets out of the briars. Valley quail hunts can be effectively combined with mountain quail, squirrel, dove, and rabbit hunting. We use pointing dogs that are also trained to retrieve for quail hunts. California Quail are also known as Valley Quail.
