Jeff has been guiding this ranch for the past 35 years and knows the land as well as the animal movements throughout the private 27,000 - acre ranch. New alfalfa fields have been planted and water is supplied year round to ensure healthy and more resident animals.

Eastern Colorado Mule Deer Hunt #1 Pintada)
The Eastern Colorado Mule & Whitetails Deer Hunts are on a drawing with limited number of licenses available. The limited number of hunters has resulted in an increase in both the number and quality of our deer. When you draw a tag in our area it is good for either a Mule Deer or a Whitetail Hunt.
Colorado has a preference point system and also has a percentage of licenses allotted to the landowner. This system has enabled our hunters to draw a tag with high success using the landowner preference we have available to us. Most regular season hunts you can draw allow you to hunt with us using our landowner preference. Late season hunts will take points in addition to our landowner preference. This year we will again have available a number of landowner vouchers which will enable you to purchase a license without having to draw a tag or use any accumulated preference points.

Although we specialize in fully guided hunts, we do offer drop camps. This camp includes one large wall tent per every four hunters for a total of five (5) nights. Tents are fully equipped with wood stove, pots, pans, cook stove, chairs, and table. You must supply your own food and any extras. With the increase in the number of Black Bear in Colorado, the Colorado Division of Wildlife has now available Private Land Bear Licenses for Colorado Bear Hunts. There is no drawing for these September Bear Licenses.
This will be a spot and stalk Colorado Bear Hunt in the canyons and mesas of Western Colorado using either a rifle or bow. Hunters will be staying at the Packrat Camp on the rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison with food, lodging, and 1×1 guide service at this famous elk camp.

Our drop camps are outfitted for a comfortable backcountry experience. All drop camps are equipped with a roomy wall tent, a wood heating stove, sturdy cots, propane cookstove, lanterns, table and chairs, an ax, shovel, cut firewood and a latrine.
From the trailhead, you will reach the drop camp on one of our reliable horses or mules, assisted by an experienced packer who will pack in your personal gear and food. Packers will also pack out your game from the field to the trailhead.

This is a five night hunt. You provide your license, personal gear, and prefered method of hunting. We will help with all of the remaining details. Our ratio is one guide per two hunters.
Hunters should expect a minimum of 2 hours in the saddle on all of our hunts. Most early season hunt camps are set at timberline (11,400 feet), or higher. Once we reach main camp, hunters can walk out of the tents to hunt, or choose to hike or ride horseback to a further destination.

Jeff has been guiding this ranch for the past 35 years and knows the land as well as the animal movements throughout the private 27,000 - acre ranch. New alfalfa fields have been planted and water is supplied year round to ensure healthy and more resident animals.
