The Day Hunt will take place on a different part of the ranch, keeping all parties private to their own group of hunters. Over the years, people have stayed nearby at hotels, Air B&B, camped in the National Forest, or simply drove in the day of their hunt.
We try to begin Day Hunts as early as possible, close to sunrise. Start time is usually dependent upon arrival time of hunters. We hope to conclude the hunt by lunchtime. Multiple consecutive Day Hunts can be scheduled.

Molokai’s rugged terrain is home for a few different species of goats which originated from Southeast Asia and Europe. In the early 1700’s, goats were transported off the Spaniards shipwrecked boats off the coast of Hawaii and other species brought in by Westerners. Like the pigs, these Spanish goats were all domesticated at one time. Through the years, they have adapted to different environments around Hawaii. There are over 300 species of goats in world today, and they continue to evolve depending on their environment. On Molokai, these wild goats have genetically blended into a few different shapes of trophies. Some of these goats throw horns better known as ibex goats, and others carry more of the wide twisted turns. The black Hawaiian goat also makes a great hunting adventure and a beautiful addition to your trophy list. There are NO trophy fees for this hunt.

Feral hogs ranging in size from 20lbs to 350lbs or bigger roam the entirety of Stuart Ranch. Hunts take place mainly in blinds over a feeder, bait site, or food plot. Additional bait will be put out when you are dropped off for your hunt. When spot and stalk opportunities present themselves we will take full advantage of the situation. Blind-Based Day Hog Hunt - 1 Hog
All hunts include accommodations in hunters’ bunkhouse, transportation to and from blinds and hunt sites, and 1 hog per day. Most hunts are from enclosed blinds for rifle hunting. We can also set up ground blinds or tripods for archery and handgun hunters. Automatic feeders have solar powered hog lights for great night hunting. (Great for coyotes too.) more hogs can be taken for an extra fee. We also have a gun range and encourage everyone to make sure your weapons are sighted in. hunters 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 300 Acre Hunting Preserve Hog Hunt, 300-350 lbs
A guided spot and stalk hog hunt consists of 1 hunter on 1 guide or 2 hunters on 1 guide in the spot and stalk scenarios. The hunting preserve area is approximately 300 acres so be prepared for a little walking. There are stands and ambush points the guides can direct you to if a hunter isn’t physically able to walk. This is a challenging hog hunt that is great for introducing young or inexperienced hunters to the outdoors. The hog hunting guides will help teach guests how to maneuver through the woods undetected on well-worn game trails and the hog hunters will learn how to use the wind and patience on approach. We provide shooting sticks for rifle hunters. We allow hunters to choose their weapon of choice.
While on a typical spot and stalk hog hunt your guide will predetermine a time for continental breakfast at the main lodge and then depart shortly afterward for the hunting grounds. We have had multiple hogs taken over the years on the way to the hunting location so the hunter could experience an added bonus. Once arriving to their hog hunting spots, the guide will then lead the way and help you stalk into your competent shooting range. This hog hunt is also great for large parties of hunters. The guides will safely divide the hunting area into zones and communicate together to help track moving boar and hopefully ensure success for their clients. After the hunt, the guides will load the hog or hogs and take them back to our processing facility so the meat can be prepared for transport or placed into our walk-in coolers until time for departure.

We conduct all of our thermal hog hunts on over 10,000 privately owned acres. We not only hunt the agricultural fields we also hunt in the woods over our feed sources and food plots. The Gopher Plantation staff plants over 200 acres of food plots for wildlife. Not only do our deer and turkey benefit from this but also our wild hog population. It’s not uncommon to find 4-6 groups of hogs on a 3-hour thermal hunt with us all while literally hunting out of our back door. If you don’t have any thermal equipment for hog hunting at night, no problem we have you covered. We have 10 guns set up with Pulsar thermal scopes and suppressors at your disposal. When you book a hunt with us your group will be the only hunting party on the property. Your hunting guide is dedicated to making sure you have a good experience on the ranch and will be available to help you for a successful wild hog hunt.
The McCune Ranch Property is about 600 acres in size. We do not offer high fence or pinned animals to hunt. The property is a mix of heavily wooded areas, stock ponds, pastures with creeks and a swamp running across the property. The creeks and swamp flow into the Sabine River a short distance away. This provides an endless supply of Free Range Texas Wild Hogs from the Sabine River bottoms.
At McCune Ranch Outfitters your hunting guide will be available to transport you to your hunting location.

We conduct all of our thermal hog hunts on over 10,000 privately owned acres. We not only hunt the agricultural fields we also hunt in the woods over our feed sources and food plots. The Gopher Plantation staff plants over 200 acres of food plots for wildlife. Not only do our deer and turkey benefit from this but also our wild hog population. It’s not uncommon to find 4-6 groups of hogs on a 3-hour thermal hunt with us all while literally hunting out of our back door. You can add hours to your thermal hog hunt and increase the shooting opportunities.
If you don’t have any thermal equipment for hog hunting at night, no problem we have you covered. We have 10 guns set up with Pulsar thermal scopes and suppressors at your disposal. The guides also have 3 sets of Pulsar thermal binoculars to spot hogs throughout your hunt. We also provide shooting sticks, snacks, and a cooler with drinks so literally all you have to do is show up. If you have your own thermal night hunting equipment or have picked up some new toys and need a place to use them, feel free to bring them on your hunt as well.

Thermal Fully Outfitted Hog Hunt in Central Texas - All Inclusive - 2 Days / 2 Nights
You'll have a hard time choosing which one to take down! We set up strategically placed blinds in known travel, feeding and watering areas. If the hunter is capable, we really love the excitement of a great spot and stalk to hunt our wild hogs. Shoot as many hogs as you like, as this is an unlimited hog hunt but we only clean and quarter one hog with the package. The terrain consist of dense mesquite-filled, rugged pastures, food plots, river bottoms and 72 freshwater lakes where the abundant wild game has easy access to water, cover and food. This makes our area a prime spot for an abundance of monster Texas trophy hogs. Our guides take you into a choice area, stay with you, or drop you off, the choice is yours. Then the guides will bring you back to the lodge for lunch and a rest period. Then it’s back out for the evening hunt. 300 Acre Hunting Preserve Hog Hunt, <100 lbs
A guided spot and stalk hog hunt consists of 1 hunter on 1 guide or 2 hunters on 1 guide in the spot and stalk scenarios. The hunting preserve area is approximately 300 acres so be prepared for a little walking. There are stands and ambush points the guides can direct you to if a hunter isn’t physically able to walk. This is a challenging hog hunt that is great for introducing young or inexperienced hunters to the outdoors. The hog hunting guides will help teach guests how to maneuver through the woods undetected on well-worn game trails and the hog hunters will learn how to use the wind and patience on approach. We provide shooting sticks for rifle hunters. We allow hunters to choose their weapon of choice.
While on a typical spot and stalk hog hunt your guide will predetermine a time for continental breakfast at the main lodge and then depart shortly afterward for the hunting grounds. We have had multiple hogs taken over the years on the way to the hunting location so the hunter could experience an added bonus. Once arriving to their hog hunting spots, the guide will then lead the way and help you stalk into your competent shooting range. This hog hunt is also great for large parties of hunters. The guides will safely divide the hunting area into zones and communicate together to help track moving boar and hopefully ensure success for their clients. After the hunt, the guides will load the hog or hogs and take them back to our processing facility so the meat can be prepared for transport or placed into our walk-in coolers until time for departure.

We have 5 different hunting ranches and access to the 75,000 acres of private land. The terrain we hunt includes big brush filled canyons, steep rock slides, rolling oaks, and grain fields during summer months. Wild pigs are a blast to hunt, an average pig will weigh 150lbs, with the occasional 200lb+. This is a 2 day hunt but on occasion our clients will kill a pig the first day.
